Why This Is An Issue
Obesity is an issue because overeating can diminish your body's ability to resist various diseases.
Also, there's all the financial issues involved. When someone becomes obese, the insurance company has to pay, the doctors have to pay and the government itself basically has to pay. You can imagine the amount of times that an obese person has to go to the doctor and make everyone pay. If you can't imagine, let us make it easier for you, many, many times... Someone who is obese costs on average more than 1400 USD per year to care for more than someone who is not obese. Someone who has diabetes costs on average 6600 USD per year to take care for more than someone without diabetes. Collectively, obesity costs about 150 billion USD a year. We'd like to finish off by saying that obesity is a global issue that affects us all; young and old, rich and poor... Some of obese people are obese and it leads to social or emotional reasons. When you are obese you feel horrible and are lonely. You don't want to be seen but you cant stop eating. Half of the obese issue is not burning of the calories you get. Athletes have lots of calories for energy but they burn it of in competitions. Obesity is a large issue and is affecting us no matter what.
